Creative Visioning Exercise
Unlock your potential and create a life of your design with this creative visioning exercise.
Preparation:
You will need some writing paper and a pen for this exercise. You may also like to prepare your favourite tea and create an inspiring space that you can relax into to make this time more intentional.
Find a quiet space where you will be uninterrupted for the next 45 minutes.
Begin with a 5-10 minute meditation to bring yourself into the present moment; moving out of your mind and into your body.
When you open your eyes, read the below introduction and then proceed to the questions.
Introduction:
When you open your eyes from your meditation, imagine that you’re waking up from a deep sleep and it’s five years from today. All your desires and goals have actualised. The following questions will ask you describe what you are experiencing. Please answer in either past or present tense.
Capture whatever images come to mind, even if it doesn’t feel rational. Try not to overthink, just write and keep the pen moving. Approach this exercise with a sense of play and possibility. This may feel challenging because some of us have been told to be “realistic”, but I’m giving you total permission to let go of any limitations and dream big.
For this exercise, don’t worry about HOW any of this will transpire. The goal is to capture clues about what brings you most alive. Just write whatever thoughts bring you joy or give you a tiny surge of energy.
