Pale River

pale river

the trees relax into

spindly limbs to cool

green meets blue

in her iris

a soft ripple in her gaze

I undress and slip into the water

swim in circles around the eclipse

lay back and look to the sky

and you see me

bathing in her eye

exposed I swim to the branches

who hold me then let go

in a tear drop down her face

and onto your finger

as you gently brush me away
