Lunar Lamentation
When the night sky is naked of clouds
And its full soul is glowing,
Pouring down onto me a sense of calm
A perfect circle.
That we share these rare moments
It always starts off slow
A waltz,
Of tender, gentle touching
Lips barely parted and I,
Melting into your embrace.
And when I arch and smile and open my eyes
I see deep into yours and it begins-
The urgent, stressed fervour.
Dizzying and unsettling
Because I am all yours now and you are all mine
But I know, as it’s always been with you
That as soon as we untangle and begin the day
It will be still
And you will be empty for me again.
Under the moon at the opposite end of time
I’m alone, in a prison of my restlessness
This vicious cycle I endure
A loop I clumsily navigate
Again and again and again…
